The plugin includes an OpenAI-compatible provider layer for DeepSeek, Groq, and OpenRouter. This lets the WordPress AI Client request text-generation models through each provider’s compatible API. It is not a general-purpose screen for registering an arbitrary custom endpoint.

Providers included in the compatibility layer
- DeepSeek: uses the provider API at
https://api.deepseek.com. - Groq: uses the provider API at
https://api.groq.com/openai/v1. - OpenRouter: uses the provider API at
https://openrouter.ai/api/v1.
Configure a supported provider
- Add the provider’s chat action to a workflow, or attach its chat model to an AI Agent.
- Enter the API key for that provider when the editor requests it.
- Wait for the plugin to validate the key and retrieve the current text-generation model list.
- Select a model returned by the provider, then configure the prompt and workflow inputs.
- Save and test the workflow. Check the output and any provider error before relying on the result.
Can I enter my own API endpoint?
The inspected implementation registers the three named compatible providers with fixed base URLs. It does not expose a general custom base-URL field in the workflow configuration. Do not enter a different endpoint unless a future plugin version explicitly adds support for it.
