Send Notifications to Telegram

Send workflow messages through Telegram.

Telegram Send Message sends a text message using the Telegram Bot API’s sendMessage method. It uses a saved connection for the bot token, plus a chat ID and message text configured on the action.

Save the Telegram bot token

  • Create or select a Telegram bot and obtain its bot token.
  • Open Agent Workflows → Connections → Add New.
  • Set Integration to telegram, enter a label, and choose API Key.
  • Enter the bot token in API Key and save. The built-in verifier recognizes the telegram identifier and checks the token using Telegram’s bot identity endpoint.

    Configure Telegram Send Message

  • Add the Telegram Send Message action to the workflow.
  • Select the saved token connection in Telegram bot token connection.
  • Enter the destination in Chat ID. Use a chat or channel identifier that the bot is allowed to message.
  • Enter text in Message (supports {{trigger.fields.*}} tokens). Supported trigger-field tokens are interpolated before execution.
  • Save the workflow and run a controlled test with a destination where the bot can send messages.

    Check the action result

The action sends a JSON request to Telegram’s sendMessage endpoint. It returns a success flag, HTTP status, and parsed response when available. It treats a non-success HTTP response or a Telegram response with ok: false as a failure. A successful API response is not a guarantee that a recipient read the message.

If the action fails, check the bot token, Chat ID, destination permissions, and node error output. See Manage Workflow Connections for credential updates.
