Configure Form Privacy Settings

Review Smart Form Builder’s visitor-tracking, cookie, IP anonymization, data-collection, and uninstall privacy controls and their defaults.

Smart Form Builder by Dragwyb’s GDPR / Privacy settings mainly control visitor analytics and the visitor details associated with tracking and submissions. They are not a universal setting that removes all personal data from every form entry. Configure them according to the data your site actually collects and your privacy policy.

Open the privacy settings

  1. In WordPress, open Smart Form Builder → Settings.
  2. Select the GDPR / Privacy tab.
  3. Review the available settings and their descriptions.
  4. Click Save Settings after making changes.

Available privacy controls

  • Enable Visitor Tracking — defaults to off. When enabled, the plugin can collect visitor analytics, pageviews, and traffic-source attribution.
  • Track Logged-in Administrators — defaults to off; controls whether administrators are included in visitor analytics.
  • Session Timeout (minutes) — default 30; allowed range 5–120.
  • Cookie Duration (days) — default 730; allowed range 1–730.
  • Anonymize IP Addresses — defaults to off; removes the last octet of IPv4 addresses before storage.
  • Respect Do Not Track (DNT) Browser Header — defaults to off; when enabled, tracking is disabled for visitors sending the DNT header.
  • Disable Tracking Cookies — defaults to off; prevents visitor-identification cookies.
  • Disable User Details Collection — defaults to off; prevents recording IP address, user agent, and browser/OS details with form submissions and pageviews.
  • Auto-delete tracking data after (days) — defaults to 0 (keep indefinitely); allowed range 0–3650.
  • Retain Form Entries When Cleaning Tracking Data — defaults to on; when enabled, cleanup retains form submission entries.
  • Remove ALL Data on Plugin Uninstall — defaults to off; if enabled, uninstall removes forms, entries, and analytics tables.

Important behavior

Most tracking-specific options appear only when Enable Visitor Tracking is enabled. The retention period applies to analytics tracking cleanup, not automatically to all stored records. The GDPR Consent field is configured separately in the form editor and does not itself turn tracking off until a visitor checks the box.

Before enabling tracking, review the visitor data collected, your cookie and privacy notices, and any applicable consent requirements. Disabling a tracking feature should not be treated as deleting data already stored; use the retention controls and your documented deletion procedures where appropriate.
